Collection: Pleurisy

What is Pleurisy?

Pleurisy is a condition in which the pleura—the thin membranes lining the lungs and chest cavity—become inflamed, causing sharp chest pain that worsens with breathing, coughing, or sneezing. It is often a result of a viral or bacterial infection, pneumonia, or an autoimmune condition, and can sometimes be accompanied by fluid buildup in the chest (pleural effusion).

Early intervention is important to manage inflammation, relieve pain, and prevent complications like lung infection or collapsed lung.

Symptoms of Pleurisy

  1. Sharp or stabbing chest pain (worse when breathing deeply or coughing)
  2. Shortness of breath
  3. Dry cough
  4. Fever or chills (if infection is present)
  5. Fatigue or weakness
  6. Shallow breathing to avoid pain

Natural Support for Pleurisy

To help reduce inflammation, soothe the lungs, and support the body’s natural healing, our practitioners recommend:

  1. CH02 InflamaStop Tincture – A powerful herbal blend formulated to target inflammation, relieve discomfort, and support immune balance during acute conditions like pleurisy.
  2. CH12 BronciCare Tincture – Supports lung function, reduces congestion, and assists in clearing infection or mucus buildup in the respiratory tract.
  3. CH164 LungSupport Capsules – Strengthens the lungs, improves breathing capacity, and offers herbal support for recovery from chest infections.
  4. CH196 Colloidal Silver Liquid – A natural antimicrobial that helps the body fight bacterial or viral infections contributing to inflammation in the pleural lining.

Natural Ways to Support Lung & Immune Health

  1. Rest and allow your body to recover – Avoid overexertion during the healing process.
  2. Stay hydrated – Water helps thin mucus and clear inflammation from the lungs.
  3. Use a warm compress on the chest – Helps relieve tension and reduce discomfort.
  4. Avoid cold air and smoke – These can irritate the lungs and worsen inflammation.
  5. Eat warming, anti-inflammatory foods – Garlic, ginger, turmeric, and broths can help soothe the respiratory system.
  6. Inhale steam with eucalyptus or peppermint – Opens airways and eases chest tightness.
  7. Support immunity – With herbs, vitamins, and minerals that help your body fight infections more effectively.

Note: While natural remedies can provide effective support for pleurisy, chronic or severe cases—especially those with fever, persistent chest pain, or difficulty breathing—should be evaluated by a healthcare professional. Early diagnosis and care help prevent complications.
